REHABILITATION AND UPGRADE OF CONDENSATE FACILITIES
CLIENT: NIGERIA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CO. (NNPC) FOR WRPC
Project scope was to recover loss of steam and improve its recycling efficiency to the main steam drum of the Refinery. Reduce loss of steam and replace corroded Condensate pumps, pipes, drums with modern analyzer technology for flow monitoring.
LECG proposed alternative design that was accepted by the client and included among others:
1. New Larger Flash Drum system was added
2. New Armstrong Bucket Type Steam Traps to Lower the pressure and overcome pressure differences.
3. New Steam Traps to replace the strainers and Steam Traps on the exchangers outlet lines.
4. New additional pipeline and control valves that allowed larger flexibility of the system
5. Adding Pit Pumps and Pit Level Switch at Tank Farm. The above modifications secured the results targeted by the client and reliable performance of the facilities since its commissioning.
Successful construction and commissioning of the facilities was completed by LECG on schedule and functioning since uninterrupted due to high quality of manufacturing and completion achieved by constructing the skid mounted elements of the system at LECG manufacturing facilities and shipping and installing them in the refinery.
